On May 27-29, ADAMUN club with support of Ministry of Youth and Sport and UNDP Azerbaijan organised Youth Model UN Conference 2016 at ADA University. 130 participants from various backgrounds gathered to discuss   recent political issues and exchange ideas to find a common solution for them.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the conference, ADA University Dean for School of Public and International Affairs, Dr. Elnur Soltanov expressed his gratitude to the young initiators of this project and talked about the importance of such initiatives benefitting both to society and youth without any material expectation behind.

Later YouthMUN Conference Board welcomed the participants and shared the information about the committees. Following tradition of YouthMUN Conference on discussing youth-related issues, ADAMUN Club devoted the topic of UN General Assembly to the very actual issue of youth - “Preventing drug use among youth”. In the other two simulated committees- International Court of Justice and Historical Crisis Committee, topics were “Marshall Islands vs UK (case on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons)” and “Establishment of Palestinian and Israeli states” accordingly.

All three committees successfully completed their discussions and achieved to adopt resolutions about the issues on agenda. During the conference, the most active participants were awarded on “Best Delegate”, “Best Debutant”, “Best Position Paper” and “Honourable Mention” categories.

At the closing ceremony, YouthMUN agreement was signed by ADA University, Baku State University and Azerbaijan State Economics University Model UN Clubs. The agreement includes general clauses on partnership and the decision to hold YouthMUN conference together the next year. Thus the YouthMUN Conference 2017 will be held in three universities at the same time and each university will host different committee.
